Bobby & Bernice Hill, the new owners of Clay Valley Speedway, are proud to reveal the 2019 racing schedule of events at Clay Valley Speedway. This track is an adventurous 3/8th mile, high-banked, clay oval fittingly nicknamed “THE CLAY COLISEUM.”
In the off season, Bobby & the track crew have been working hard to prepare the track. They hauled over 350 loads of red clay from Castlewood, Virginia to the track in Coeburn, Virginia and they are eager to show off their hard work. In 47 years, this will be the first season ever ran on clay!! Bernice has been working just as hard as the guys, getting “Ruby B’s concessions” in order, so make sure to bring your appetite! With lots of new equipment and a brand new pit concession area, she is equipped to fix some delicious food! Fans will enjoy hearing track action being called on a premium BOSE sound system. Racing after dark will also be incomparable with state of the art lumineer stadium lighting. And last but not least, there will be a special area just for our young race fans. “ZZ’s Playland” will contain inflatable bouncers, ping pong tables, and an outdoor movie screen.
The 2019 racing season will begin with a pair of open practices on Saturday, March 9 and another on Saturday, March 16.
Bobby and Bernice are thrilled to join with premier sponsor, PEPSI, to open with their first race on March 23, 2019. This race will feature the track’s FIVE weekly divisions of competition in action — Late Models, Crate Late Model, Open Wheel Modifieds, Super Stocks and Four Cylinders.
The weekly events at Clay Valley Speedway for 2019 will include Late Models racing for $1,200 to win, Crates racing for $1,000 to win, Open Wheel Modifieds racing for $800 to win, Super Stocks racing for $600 to win and Four Cylinders racing for $400 to win.
In addition to weekly races, we will be featuring many special events throughout the 2019 season.
The Schaeffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series presented by Sunoco Race Fuels and Tennessee R.V. will be entering its seventh season of competition in 2019 and will be coming to Clay Valley Speedway on April 12th and again on October 26th for the Schaeffer’s Oil Fall Nationals Series!! The series is featuring eight new tracks this year, one of those being Clay Valley Speedway and we couldn’t be more excited. In addition to these 2 races, there will also be a Late Model battle on September 7th with $3,000 going to the winner.
Crate fans will be happy to know that United Championship Racing Alliance (UCRA) will be adding Clay Valley to its roster as well. They will be rolling into town on June 22th. In addition to this series, the American Crate All-Star Series will be racing on May 25th and August 31st. The speedway will also sponsor a special crate race on July 13th called “Crazy 8’s Crates” and will pay $1,888.88 to the winner.
Don’t worry open wheel modified fans and drivers, we didn’t forget about you. On July 27th, the Renegades of Dirt will be running in the “Southern Swing” race and is sure to put on an electrifying show. Mid-East Modifies will be pairing with the American Crate All-Star Series on Labor Day Weekend!!
